Student life at Fairfield University supports the Jesuit tradition of caring for the whole person by providing opportunities that engage students in meaningful activities designed for their living and learning experience. Along with meeting lifelong friends, Fairfield provides a rich opportunity to grow as a whole person with the help of mentors, professors and community members.

In this vibrant community with over 100 clubs and organizations, there are countless activities to choose from. Whether it is participating in an intramural sport, Broadway trip, Fairfield@Night event, attending an athletic games or quintessential events like Red Sea Madness, Alumni & Family Weekend, Presidential Ball or Midnight Breakfast there is always something to do.

Downtown Fairfield, which offers everything from great restaurants, shops, and theaters, is only a five-minute bus ride away. If you’re feeling adventurous, bike to the beach to catch a sunset or take a quick train ride from our Fairfield station to explore all that New York City has to offer. Make room on your calendars now because at Fairfield- there is never a dull moment.

On behalf of the Division of Student Life, I would like to welcome you to the Fairfield University community. Whether you are about to embark on your first semester or your last, Stag Country is so glad you are here. Fairfield University is a great institution and a very special place—a place that will help you discover your passions, develop life-long friends and challenge you to learn both inside and outside the classroom.

As your Vice President for Student Life, I want you to know there are many individuals within the division whose work is to help you succeed within our community. Our goal is simple: We help students discover how to live meaningful and purposeful lives in connection with mind, body and spirit for the greater good. We are interested in students’ needs, well-being, and formation and we create programs, offer experiences and provide services that enhance your educational experience.

Dean Of Students

The Office of the Dean of Students serves as a central resource to connect students with university and community resources in support of their educational experience. Alongside other members of the University community, our office strives to create community standards which encourage a safe, respectful, healthy, and inclusive atmosphere, open communication, values-based decision-making, ethical behavior, leadership, and resiliency.

Student Services

Fairfield's campus provides serene beauty, while its 36 modern buildings provide state-of-the-art technology and the resources you'll need to complement your classroom experience. Our 200 acres feature multiple athletic fields and housing options from traditional residence halls to apartments to townhouses.

International Student Life

The Office of Student Engagement (OSE) is the main resource for international students at Fairfield University. The OSE provides personal advising involving information on medical health insurance, campus life, and adapting to student life in the United States.

University Traditions

Some of our traditions are rooted in religion and reflection while others give us a chance to celebrate our accomplishments. And a many are just plain fun! These yearly events bring our community together and truly become the heartbeat of our Fairfield Community.

Student Handbook

The Student Handbook contains many of the policies and procedures for students at Fairfield University. In addition, this handbook contains information about Fairfield's history, mission, and culture, as well as a number of the services and resources which are available to students. The policies contained in this handbook are applicable to all students - undergraduate, graduate, and part-time - of Fairfield University, and students are responsible for being aware of these policies and following them accordingly.

Health & Wellness

Fairfield University Health & Wellness involves three key areas for students: Fitness & Recreation, Counseling & Psychological Services and the Health Center.

Public Safety

The Fairfield campus is a lot of things: a place to live, learn, and make your own. It's also an incredibly safe environment. The function of the Fairfield University Department of Public Safety is to ensure that the entire university community stays as free as possible from crime, while pursuing their academic endeavors to the fullest. Officers prevent, investigate and report any violations of State or Federal Law and/or University regulations on campus.

Fire Safety

Staffed by a Connecticut state certified Fire Marshall, the Environmental Health and Safety Office provides professional advice to campus departments on all aspects of health, life and fire safety.

Student Diversity

The Office of Student Diversity and Multicultural Affairs seeks to develop and implement programs and services that will increase the engagement of students in activities that promote and foster an inclusive living and learning community.

Students will obtain a greater understanding and appreciation of diversity, multiculturalism, and social justice through participation and celebration in a variety of activities.

Student Engagement

The Office of Student Engagement seeks to underscore the development of the whole person, and particularly assist students in their transition and exploration at Fairfield University. Student Engagement empowers students to work together to build community, lead ethically, and value differences. Through interdivisional collaborations, especially between Academic Affairs and Student Life, Student Engagement connects students to curricular and co-curricular experiences that empower civic responsibility and personal growth.

Fairfield has pulled together a unique schedule that offers alumni chances to network and reconnect, current students time to share their experiences with their parents, and for everyone to gather to celebrate Fairfield’s proud past and our amazing future.

Serving the intellectually hungry and perpetually curious, the Quick Center provides a home for the exploration of remarkable and inspiring performing arts opportunities for the community at large.

Fairfield University Art Museum

The Fairfield University Art Museum offers meaningful opportunities for first-hand experience of original works of art and their unique historical resonance. We foster appreciation of the visual arts; cultivate cultural literacy and critical engagement; conserve, research, and impart knowledge about the collection in accordance with best scholarly and museum practices; and champion human creativity of all cultures and time periods.
