Graduate Ceremony: 3:00 p.m.

Save The Date: Sunday, May 20, 2018

On Sunday, May 20, 2018, Fairfield University will hold our 68th Commencement exercises.

The ceremony for undergraduates will be at 9:30 a.m. and the graduate ceremony at 3 p.m. Both ceremonies will be held on Bellarmine Lawn.

In the case of severe and dangerous weather, officials may choose to move the ceremonies indoors to Alumni Hall with satellite broadcast locations in various campus buildings. The ceremony typically runs for 2 hours. There will be a live-stream of the ceremony.

Each degree candidate is given a maximum of five tickets for the outdoor Commencement exercises. Two of these outdoor tickets will be special indoor tickets valid for two guests only for indoor exercises. In April, degree candidates will be notified by e-mail to pick up tickets in the Registrar's Office in the Kelley Center. Students are reminded to safeguard their tickets. Lost tickets will not be replaced. No admittance to any Commencement location will be allowed without a ticket.

For Commencement, family and friends of graduates will have access to all the parking areas on campus except for those that have been reserved. Due to the larges crowds, graduating seniors will have buses provided for them as transportation to campus from the beach. Buses will depart from Veterans Park at 7:00 a.m. Additional information regarding bus registration will be sent via e-mail to degree candidates living at the beach.

Fairfield University encourages everyone to participate in all Commencement activities. There will be several indoor locations streaming live video of the ceremonies located around campus for guests with physical limitations or those who prefer indoor seating. If you anticipate needing any type of special accommodation or have questions about the physical access provided, please contact the Department of Public Safety at (203) 254-4090 or visit Loyola Hall, Ground Floor, Room 2, between May 1 - May 6 for special arrangements.

Each school at Fairfield University will host an undergraduate reception on Saturday, May 19, 2018 followed by the Baccalaureate Mass at 4 p.m. in Alumni Hall. Graduates, along with their family and friends, are invited to attend their school's reception to meet and mingle with deans and faculty members. Everyone is also invited to attend the Baccalaureate Mass. Specific details regarding time and location for the receptions will be forthcoming.

If you have any questions about Senior Week, which will take place during the week leading up to Commencement, contact the Office of Student Engagement (203) 254-4000, ext 2081 or seniorweek@fairfield.edu. There will be additional information provided in the upcoming months.

We are looking forward to celebrating with all of our families, friends, guests and benefactors. We hope you can join us.
