Fairfield University has once again been ranked in Money Magazine’s annual list of 'Best Colleges for Your Money.' Placing in the list’s top 75 out of 476 private colleges included in the ranking Fairfield falls in the top 13% of private colleges and universities nationwide. Additionally, the University was ranked in the top 20% nationally among all 744 schools included in the national rankings.

Fairfield University has once again been named among the best schools in the nation by Time’s Money magazine. Money magazine’s annual "Best Colleges for Your Money" ranking places Fairfield among the top 75 private universities in the country, and in the top 20% of all schools nationally.

Top 10 Best Catholic University

Ranking in the top 10 best Catholic colleges and universities in the United States by College Consensus, Fairfield earned a No. 6 spot nationally out of 131 schools included in this year’s review. Additionally, Fairfield is the only Connecticut university to place among the top 10. It is joined by only two other New England colleges and universities in its placement at the head of the ranking.

Top 75 Private Universities in the nation

In Forbes’ 2019 list of America’s Top Colleges, Fairfield University placed No. 64 out of 400 schools in their comparison of private colleges and universities, putting Fairfield in the top 16% of all private colleges and universities in the nation.

Happiest Students

Fairfield has been named to Princeton Review’s annual ranking of the 385 Best Colleges for 2020. The University also was named to several national Top 20 lists, earning a spot on the ranking’s list of Top 20 Schools with the Happiest Students.

BEST 385 COLLEGES FOR 2020

Fairfield was named to Princeton Review's nationwide list of the best 385 colleges for 2020. Within this distinction, Fairfield received high marks in several of the review's national top 20 rankings, placing No. 14 for Best Alumni Network, No. 14 for Best Schools for Internships, No. 16 for its location in the town of Fairfield, and No. 19 for Happiest Students. Regionally, Princeton Review also awarded Fairfield a place on its Best Northeastern Colleges list for 2020.

BEST VALUE COLLEGE

Jumping 128 spots from No. 258 in Kiplinger’s 2018 ranking, Fairfield placed in the top 33% of this year’s national list. In a ranking of private universities, Fairfield sits at No. 41 in the group, placing them among the top 30% of private universities nationwide. Additionally, the University placed in the top 25 value universities in New England.

High 'Salary Yardstick' post graduation

Fairfield’s leap to the top 33% of Kiplinger’s 2019 rankings are distinguished by their high ‘salary yardstick’ — students’ anticipated median job earnings following graduation — which top $72,000, as well as their high graduation rate (79%) and low average debt upon graduation ($32,186).

Named No. 2 Best Value College in research site Niche’s 2020 Best College ranking, Fairfield’s high placement on the list was based on a calculation of net price, alumni earnings, graduation rate, and student debt data.

Women’s Basketball
ranked 20th in the nation in team GPA

Supporting a team grade point average of 3.499, the Fairfield University Women's Basketball team earned a spot on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Team Honor Roll for the second-straight season. The Stags' GPA ranked 20th among all NCAA Division I institutions and was the only Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) representative. Fairfield is also the only MAAC school to make the academic team honor roll in two-straight years since Manhattan grabbed a spot from 2008-2010.

7 teams with perfect 1000 NCAA APR scores

Seven Fairfield University athletic teams were cited for excellence in the classroom by receiving the NCAA's Public Recognition Award, given to programs which score in the top 10 percent of their sports in the most recent Academic Progress Rates. Women's Basketball, Field Hockey, Men's Golf, Women's Lacrosse, Softball, Men's and Women's Tennis, collected the award by achieving an Academic Progress Rate (APR) that ranked among the top 10 percent in their respective sport.
