Fairfield University has risen to #1 in the Northern Region in the annual U.S. News & World Report, Best Colleges 2019 ranking.

No. 1 in State for Accounting

Fairfield’s accounting programs have earned a best-in-state reputation published by several rankings outlets.

Best in State

The Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies continues to receive national attention, recently being named among the top 15 nursing programs in the country and the top nursing program in Connecticut. Additionally, College Factual’s ranking placed Egan graduates among the top 5% highest paid graduates in the country.

Fairfield U Graduate Business & Nursing Programs Among Best in the Nation, Top 3 in the State by U.S. News & World Report

Fairfield’s business programs in finance, marketing, and accounting are ranked #1 in the state and Top 20 in the U.S. Fairfield’s part-time MBA program is #2 in the state and jumped into the Top 100 in the nation.

Fairfield’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) jumped 10 spots into the Top 50, second only to Yale for the best in the state. The Master of Nursing program also jumped 10 spots to 64 from 74 last year, and is among the Top 3 in the state.

Top 10 Best Catholic University

Ranking in the top 10 best Catholic colleges and universities in the United States by College Consensus, Fairfield earned a No. 6 spot nationally out of 131 schools included in this year’s review. Additionally, Fairfield is the only Connecticut university to place among the top 10. It is joined by only two other New England colleges and universities in its placement at the head of the ranking.

Fairfield University has once again been named among the best schools in the nation by Time’s Money magazine. Money magazine’s annual "Best Colleges for Your Money" ranking places Fairfield among the top 75 private universities in the country, and in the top 20% of all schools nationally.

Best Colleges in America, Ranked by Value

Fairfield University has once again been ranked in Money Magazine’s annual list of 'Best Colleges for Your Money.' Placing in the list’s top 75 out of 476 private colleges included in the ranking Fairfield falls in the top 13% of private colleges and universities nationwide. Additionally, the University was ranked in the top 20% nationally among all 744 schools included in the national rankings.

Top 100 Private Universities in the nation

In its 11th year, Forbes’ 2018 list of America’s Top Colleges focuses on “the direct benefits schools provide their graduates." Especially at a time when Americans owe more than $1 trillion in student loan debt, Forbes values “outputs” rather than “inputs.” Fairfield ranked #145 among U.S. colleges and universities, up three spots from the 2017 list.

Happiest Students

Fairfield has been named to Princeton Review’s annual ranking of the 385 Best Colleges for 2020. The University also was named to several national Top 20 lists, earning a spot on the ranking’s list of Top 20 Schools with the Happiest Students.

ACADEMICALLY OUTSTANDING

According to The Princeton Review’s Editor-in-Chief Robert Franek, the top 384 schools are chosen primarily on “outstanding academics” and are highly recommended by the publication. The best regional schools, in which Fairfield is among the best in the Northeastern region, are also considered to be “academically outstanding.” Strong institutional and student survey data determined the rankings for "Colleges That Pay You Back," which include academic rigor, affordability, and career outcomes for graduates.

BEST VALUE COLLEGE

Jumping 128 spots from No. 258 in Kiplinger’s 2018 ranking, Fairfield placed in the top 33% of this year’s national list. In a ranking of private universities, Fairfield sits at No. 41 in the group, placing them among the top 30% of private universities nationwide. Additionally, the University placed in the top 25 value universities in New England.

Best School for Internships

Fairfield University has once again been named to Princeton Review’s annual ranking of the 385 Best Colleges for 2020. The University was also named to several national Top 20 lists, earning a No. 14 spot for Best Alumni Network and another No. 14 placement for Best Schools for Internships.

According to the Class of 2018 destination report, 98% of graduates secured full-time professional employment, admission to graduate degree programs, or participation in volunteer service programs. Egan School of Nursing students have maintained a 100% post-graduation placement rate.

According to College Scorecard, with data from the US Department of Education, Fairfield is #2 in Connecticut for highest salaries post-graduation.

Women’s Basketball
ranked 20th in the nation in team GPA

Supporting a team grade point average of 3.499, the Fairfield University Women's Basketball team earned a spot on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Team Honor Roll for the second-straight season. The Stags' GPA ranked 20th among all NCAA Division I institutions and was the only Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) representative. Fairfield is also the only MAAC school to make the academic team honor roll in two-straight years since Manhattan grabbed a spot from 2008-2010.

7 teams with perfect 1000 NCAA APR scores

Seven Fairfield University athletic teams were cited for excellence in the classroom by receiving the NCAA's Public Recognition Award, given to programs which score in the top 10 percent of their sports in the most recent Academic Progress Rates. Women's Basketball, Field Hockey, Men's Golf, Women's Lacrosse, Softball, Men's and Women's Tennis, collected the award by achieving an Academic Progress Rate (APR) that ranked among the top 10 percent in their respective sport.
