42 Langguth Hall

Located in the Quad, 42 Langguth Hall opened in the fall of 2018 and is home to the Ignatian Residential College. The building features an attractive atrium, expansive meeting spaces, and comfortable accommodations for 200 sophomore students. This modern residence hall offers all the comforts of home–and then some.

Faber Hall

Faber Hall, formerly known as 42 Bellarmine Road, originally served as the primary residence for the Fairfield University Jesuit community. After a new Jesuit residence was built in 2009, the previous residence was extensively renovated. Located on the south side of campus, Faber Hall is named in honor of St. Peter Faber, S.J. (1506-1546), who was among the companions of St. Ignatius who came together to form the Society of Jesus. Pope Francis canonized Peter Faber on December 17, 2013.

Students living in Faber Hall enjoy multiple common spaces including a study area and social lounge. There is a bathroom ensuite in each room.

70 McCormick Road

Located in the Quad, 70 McCormick Road is four stories tall and hosts an impressive common lounge on the first floor as well as study and social lounge on each floor. 70 McCormick Road houses first-year students only (anticipated in Fall 2024).

Gonzaga Hall

Gonzaga Hall opened in 1957. This four-floor residence hall is located on the Quad, and is named for Saint Aloysius Gonzaga, S.J., who died while tending to the sick during the Roman plague of 1591, and is the patron saint of youth.

Campion Hall

Located on the Quad, Campion was built in 1964 and renovated in the summer of 2018 and stands four stories tall. The building was named in honor of Saint Edmund Campion, S.J., who was martyred for preaching the Catholic faith in Reformation England. Campion Hall is home to the STEM and Health and Wellness Living and Learning Communities.

Jogues Hall

Jogues Hall, opened in 1968, is named for Saint Isaac Jogues, S.J., who worked among Native Americans in Canada and was martyred near what is now Albany, NY. This building is five stories and is located on the Quad. Jogues Hall is home to the Honors and Leardership Through Service Living and Learning Communities. The building also features classrooms and the new Wellness Center, which are housed on the ground floor of the building as well.

Loyola Hall

Named for Saint Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus and author of "Spiritual Exercises," Loyola Hall is located on the Quad. It was built in 1955 and stands three stories high. Also, the building houses the Department of Public Safety and classrooms for the Fine Arts Department on the ground floor.

Regis Hall

Regis Hall, built in 1965 and refreshed during the summer of 2023, stands five stories tall. The building is named in honor of Saint John Francis Regis, S.J., who was a preacher and missionary in southern France.

Bowman Hall

Sr. Thea Bowman Hall opened in August 2023. This residence hall for sophomores is named after Sr. Thea Bowman, the only African-American member of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration who transcended racism and influenced U.S. Catholic life in the late 20th century. Bowman Hall includes six-person suites and houses the Sophomores Give Back program.

Claver Hall

Claver Hall is located on the Southside of campus and opened in 1972 and is known as one of the suites. Claver is named for Saint Peter Claver, S.J. a Spanish Jesuit who was an advocate for Human Rights. St. Peter Claver was known for his ministry to those suffering the injustice of slavery.

Kostka Hall

Kostka Hall is located on the Southside of campus and opened in 1970. Kostka Hall is named in honor of Saint Stanislaw Kostka, S.J. who was a Polish Jesuit. St. Kostka is a patron saint of students.

Kostka Hall residents are charged the Double Room Residence Hall rate. See Tuition & Fees page for details. 

Apartments

Living in the apartments provides students with an opportunity to learn self-responsibility and shared-responsibility. Residents are responsible for preparing their own meals (a limited meal plan option is available and popular with students). Due to the climate-controlled environment, utility costs are included in the apartment rental charges.

There are three apartment buildings for students:
47 Mahan Road and Meditz Hall are located in the southeast end of campus in The Village, adjacent to Kostka Hall and Claver Hall. Dolan Hall is located on the north end of campus, adjacent to the Townhouses. 47 Mahan Road and Dolan Hall are for upperclass students and Meditz Hall is for sophomore students in the Sophomores Give Back program.

Meditz Hall opened in August 2011. This building is for sophomores in the Sophomores Give Back program and consists of 5-, 7-, and 9-person apartments with double and triple bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, dining area and 1-2 bathrooms. Apartments in Meditz Hall are centrally air-conditioned and climate-controlled and are equipped with the following:

• Living room couch and loveseat or chair
• End table
• Refrigerator and stove

47 Mahan Road contains 48, 4-person units. Each unit consists of four single bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, dining area, and bathroom. Apartments are centrally air-conditioned and climate controlled.
Apartments in 47 Mahan Road are for Juniors and Seniors and are equipped with the following:

Mahan Road Apartment residents are charged the Single Occupancy Apartment rate. See Tuition & Fees page for details. 

Dolan Hall was completely renovated in 2011. The building consists of 5-, 7-, 9-, and 10- person apartments with double and triple bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, dining area and 1-2 bathrooms. Apartments in Dolan Hall are centrally air-conditioned and climate-controlled and are equipped with the following:

• Legacy wardrobes
• Chests of drawers
• Living room couch and loveseat or chair
• Coffee table
• Refrigerator and stove
• Bar stools
• Streeme TV (compatible with all major platform stores including Google Play, Amazon Fire, Roku and Apple)

Dolan Hall residents are charged the Shared Occupancy Apartment rate. See Tuition & Fees page for details. 

All apartment residents must provide their own lamps, cooking utensils, dishes, and cleaning supplies.

Living in the apartments provides students with an opportunity to learn self-responsibility and shared-responsibility. Residents are responsible for preparing their own meals (a limited meal plan option is available and popular with students). Due to the climate-controlled environment, utility costs are included in the apartment rental charges. Each of these buildings also includes laundry facilities and vending machines for residents. 

Townhouses

There are two Townhouse Complex on the north and south end of campus. The north townhouses consist of 102 units spread across 15 blocks of houses with 450 beds for upper-class living. Barnyard Manor consists of 24 units spread across 2 blocks with 128 beds for upperclass living.

The Townhouse Complex sits on the north end of campus, adjacent to the Dolan campus, athletic fields, the Walsh Athletic Center, and McAuliffe Hall. The Townhouses consist of 105 units spread across 15 blocks of houses, which are occupied by nearly 600 juniors and seniors. The Levee is also close by and serves as a social meeting point for townhouse residents.

Most townhouses are two-story units consisting of two or three bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, dining area, a minimum of 1.5 bathrooms with an extra sink, and plenty of closet/storage space. Three-bedroom units have both standard and tub showers. All townhouses have central air-conditioning.

Townhouse residents are charged either the Single or Shared Occupancy Townhouse rate. See Tuition & Fees page for details. 

Townhouse residents must provide their own lamps, cooking utensils, dishes, and cleaning supplies.

Living in the townhouses provides students with an opportunity to learn self-responsibility and shared responsibility, which is outlined in the Townhouse Bill of Rights. View the Bill of Rights (PDF).

Residents are responsible for preparing their own meals (a limited meal plan option is available and popular with students).

The townhouse complex also features a student staff member to help aide the residents.

Living in the townhouses is limited to seniors and juniors on a space-available basis.

Build-A-House Program

Marvel Men & Women for Health and Wellness

The purpose of the Build-A-House program is to allow rising juniors/seniors to design a residential community that focuses on the integration of living and learning through the implementation of a thematic Townhouse/Apartment. This will provide students an opportunity to share their thematic vision of the Build-A-House community with student peers throughout the Townhouses/Apartments and the campus community.
