Semester/Year

With programs in more than 40 countries, it’s easy to see why more than 45% of Fairfield students study abroad! With proper planning, every student, regardless of major, has the opportunity to study abroad. Our students have studied nursing in Ireland, business in France and biology in Peru. Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Global Internships

Internships are a substantive career development experience which provide students with the opportunity to gain experience in workplace settings, as well as the ability to translate classroom learning into practice. These unpaid opportunities provide students with the experience to be exposed to business ideas and concepts while being mentored. Doing analysis, contributing to decisions, and communicating meaningful ideas should form the bulk of the work, although some low skill work (for example, data entry and making phone calls) can be a part of the assignment. Interns are not required to be fluent in a foreign language as many of the host companies utilize the interns for their English speaking and writing skills. Many interns enjoy learning the local language and take advantage of language classes to advance their language skills. At the end of the internship experience, students will be able to reflect on their personal and professional growth and begin seeing themselves on their career path.
