How to Apply

The admission process at Fairfield University is holistic. Our belief in the importance of a thorough and careful review of all aspects of your application reflects our mission as a Jesuit institution. We seek to educate the whole person, and our admission practices reflect that goal.

Fairfield University recognizes the Common Application as its own application form.

Choosing the Right Application Plan

Fairfield University offers three admission deadlines: Early Decision, Early Action, and Regular Decision. Learn more about our options below to determine which application plan is right for you.

Early Decision I/II

Early Decision (ED) is a binding program that demonstrates your interest in Fairfield. If Fairfield is your top school or if you are applying to one of our increasingly competitive programs in the Dolan School of Business or Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies, ED could be a good option.

Application Deadlines

Early Decision I: Nov. 15

Early Decision II: Jan. 15

Early Action

Early Action (EA) attracts the largest pool of applicants and is a non-binding program. It is designed for the student who wants to learn of their admission decision earlier in the process (December).

EA Application Deadline

Nov. 1

Regular Decision

Regular Decision (RD) makes sense for the student who needs extra time with their application. For example, these students may be waiting for their first semester grades to become available in order for them to be considered by the Admission Committee.

RD Application Deadline

Jan. 15
