Interactive Resources

With so much information out there, and with most of it contradictory and confusing, we know it can be hard (and a little overwhelming) to figure out where to even begin to explore your own political identity.

Below are some quizzes to help you get a taste of where to begin your journey. Please know that we do not believe that these online tools are perfect, nor do we think you should take the results as completely accurate. These tools are best used to help you figure out where your journey begins, not to define you forever.

Voter Information

  • Do you need to check to see if you’re registered to vote?
  • Do you need to register to vote?
  • Do you need to get an absentee ballot?
  • Do you want to sign up for election reminders?

Follow vote.org to get all the information you need. Any further questions can be sent to Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement on Life@Fairfield.

Voter - Matchmaking For Politics App

Yes, there is an App for that. Answer a few simple questions and find out which politicians truly have your best interests at heart, and have a track record to back it up.

Political Compass Quiz

Offers a more nuanced perspective on how to view the American political spectrum.

Political Typology Quiz

Brought to you by the Pew Research Center. The questions can be seen as a little binary in approach, but the typology helps you understand where you fit into today's political landscape, and can be a good starting point for further research.

I Side With Quiz

Another tool to utilize to help you in your journey. Can take a good chunk of time to complete, but it does help you figure out which candidate(s) align with your opinions and worldview. Please know that this should only be used as a first step to determine who you more closely align with. Do not take the results as gospel!

Looking for more resources to quench your thirst for knowledge? The Fairfield University DiMenna-Nyselius Library has you covered!

The wonderful staff at the Library have put together an impressive Display of election-related materials for your viewing pleasure. Check out the display just inside the library entrance!
