Recent Graduate Stars in Super Bowl Ad

Regardless of what team you were rooting for in the Super Bowl, you surely saw a lot of great commercials. But did you know that the newest ad from Turbo Tax, Love Hurts, starred one of Fairfield's own theatre majors - alum Joe Plouffe '13? Joe was a familiar face in Theatre Fairfield productions at the Quick Center and PepsiCo Theatre the past few years. His credits included major roles in “The Arabian Nights,” “Romeo & Juliet,” “Machinal,” “Once Upon A Mattress,” and “Theatre In The Raw: The Lucille Lortel Festival Of New Plays.” He was the lead and designed scenery for last year’s student independent project, “How I Learned To Drive,” supported by the Jamie A. Hulley Foundation for the Arts. Other credits? He was props master for “The Glass Menagerie” and was the Theatre Fairfield Technical Production Intern for two years.

Check out the video and see how Joe's character finds watching this year's Super Bowl to be a lot like watching the girl he loves go to the prom with another guy, the smooth dancing Sean.

In real life, things are looking pretty good for Joe. According to IMDB, this is just the beginning. Besides starring in the Super Bowl commercial, Joe is involved in many projects, which are currently filming or are in post-production.

Congratulations Joe, this is your day - not Sean's. And continued success for what promises to be a "super" career.
