Five student teams have been selected for this year’s annual Fairfield StartUp Showcase on Tuesday, April 18, at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the Showcase starts at 7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Register today.

Last semester, students progressed through a series of workshops to develop their pitch presentation skills. Teams were then invited to pitch during the Qualifier Round in front of a panel of judges. The following five teams made it through that round and will now collaborate weekly with mentors to perfect their business plans and practice their pitches in preparation for the live Showcase event:

AdXR is the advertising network of the future for brands looking to reach XR (extended reality) audiences, including augmented reality and virtual reality, by providing safe, efficient systems and metrics.

Affluential Clothing is a streetwear clothing brand that seeks to inspire others to change the way they think about wealth.

Copula is a community-building social media platform that enables users to find places, activities, and people who share similar interests, to build new friendships and share enjoyable experiences.

Pantry + is an intuitive app that uses state-of-the-art technologies in AI and machine learning to read barcode data on the food items users purchase. The platform then provides recommendations on what to purchase next in order to meet customized dietary and health goals.

“This year we have a great mix of products and big ideas ranging from living your best life, to keeping your friends and family safe, to next-generation ad tech,” said StartUp Program Director Chris Huntley, PhD. “As always, we think we have an exceptionally talented cohort of company founders that will present an amazing show in April.”
