Rev. John Savard, S.J., '78 will host Fairfield's first-ever virtual retreat series, Lenten Reflections 2023, beginning on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 22, and concluding on Easter Sunday, April 9.

Fairfield University's Murphy Center for Ignatian Spirituality is pleased to announce the inaugural online retreat series, Lenten Reflections 2023, hosted by Rev. John Savard, S.J.

Open to all faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of Fairfield University and Fairfield Prep, this virtual program will accompany participants through the season of Lent via weekly emails featuring readings and video reflections from a Murphy Center spiritual director.

Beginning on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 22, and continuing each subsequent Monday morning leading up to Easter Sunday, April 9, participants will receive weekly email reflections imbued with concepts from the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, such as: discernment, consolation and desolation, The Examen, Finding God in All Things, and the Two Standards.

Lenten Reflections participants will also be invited to join an optional livestreamed group meeting each Friday at lunchtime, hosted by Fr. Savard on Zoom. These virtual gatherings will be an invitation to share your experience of Lent in community with fellow retreatants, but attendance is not required.
