The award-winning nutrition expert and best-selling author Evelyn Tribole will visit campus for an Open VISIONS Forum presentation made possible through the generous support of Fairfield’s Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing & Health Studies.
Fairfield University will welcome Evelyn Tribole, MS, RD, CEDRD-S, to the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts for "Intuitive Eating," an Open VISIONS Forum presentation on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 5 p.m.
With a counseling practice based out of California, Tribole, an award-winning registered dietician with 25 years of experience as a professional nutritionist, is passionate about helping people create a healthy relationship with their food, mind, and body.
Tribole is the author of ten books, including bestsellers Healthy Homestyle Cooking and Intuitive Eating (co-authored with Elyse Resch, MS, RD). In her books, the nutrition expert rejects the diet mentality that has become so prevalent in American culture and instead encourages readers to make peace with their food and rebuild a healthy body image.
Her newest book is The Intuitive Eating Workbook: Ten Principles for Nourishing a Healthy Relationship With Food, offering readers a new way of looking at food by showing how to recognize natural hunger signals. Tribole’s mindful approach in this workbook encourages readers to abandon unhealthy weight control behaviors, to develop positive body image, and to stop feeling stressed around food.
Tribole served as the nutrition expert for Good Morning America from 1994-95 and was a national spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association for six years. She was a contributing editor for Shape magazine where her monthly column, “Recipe Makeovers,” appeared for 11 years. She has been interviewed hundreds of times, including for The New York Times, CNN, NBC’s Today Show, MSNBC, Fox News, USA Today, and Vogue.
A recipient of the American Dietetic Association’s Award for Excellence in Private Practice, Tribole has been rated among the best nutritionists in the country in several national magazines, including Self, Harper’s Bazaar, and Redbook.
Made possible through the generous support of Fairfield Egan, Evelyn Tribole’s Open VISIONS Forum presentation is also supported, in part, by Moffly Media, Delamar Southport, Delamar Spa, and Artisan Restaurant.
