Incoming Class of 2025 Makes University History

Fairfield University’s Class of 2025 is making history as the University’s largest, with more than 1,250 incoming first-year students in its ranks. This class is also the academically strongest in Fairfield’s modern history.

The newly minted Stags were selected from among 12,673 applicants — Fairfield’s largest applicant pool ever — and come to Fairfield with an average high school GPA of 3.74 and average SAT/ACT scores of 1312.

“The entire enrollment team is excited to welcome the Class of 2025,” said Vice President for Enrollment Management Corry Unis. “This is a group that is equal part academically focused and community involved. From the initial review, it was clear that this class was special, and we have no doubt that they will contribute significantly to Fairfield’s academic tradition and grow within our Jesuit mission.”

Members of the Class of 2025 hail from 26 states plus Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, and eight countries: New Zealand, Canada, Vietnam, China, Chile, the U.K., Argentina, and Denmark.

“Fairfield has once again seen a record number of applications from exceptional candidates attracted to Fairfield not only for our innovative and nationally recognized programs, but because of our strong focus on community engagement, our active alumni base, our modern facilities, and our exceptional student outcomes post-graduation,” said Vice President of Marketing and Communications Jennifer Anderson.

Fairfield’s continued high placement in national college rankings includes distinctions in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges 2021 as well as on research website Niche’s 2021 Best Colleges in America list. The Princeton Review’s annual college rankings in The Best 386 Colleges: 2021 Edition granted Fairfield several national and regional distinctions, including placement on its lists of Best Northeastern Colleges, Best Value Colleges, and Green Colleges. Fairfield has also received high praise from student survey responses for professor quality and professor accessibility outside the classroom.

U.S. News & World Report's 2022 ranking of the Best Graduate Schools once again placed Fairfield Dolan's business programs in the Top 25 nationally. The Accounting, Business Analytics, and Marketing programs placed #1 in Connecticut and Finance was #2 in the state, following Yale. Fairfield's Egan School of Nursing & Health Studies ascended to Top 3 Nursing Grad School in the state.
