From Facebook profile image filters, to computer and phone wallpapers (like the one above), to a set of fun Instagram story activities, all Stags are invited join in celebrating Fairfield’s Class of 2020.

While nothing can replace the pomp and circumstance of a Fairfield Commencement, a host of celebratory social media tools will be launched to help graduates, parents, families, and friends commemorate the day.

Commencement is the pinnacle of the University calendar — Fairfield’s primary celebration of our graduates’ hard work, accomplishments, and growth. While this year looks a little different than the traditional Commencement weekend, our University community is nevertheless coming together online to celebrate our Stag grads.

Nothing can replace the pomp and circumstance of a Fairfield Commencement, but a host of celebratory social media tools will be launched to help graduates, parents, families, and friends commemorate the day. From Facebook profile image filters, to computer and phone wallpapers, to a set of fun Instagram story activities, all Stags are invited to “paint the social media town Fairfield red” in honor of the Class of 2020. Simply visit the Social Celebration page of our Commencement webpage to get a head start on the fun.

On Sunday, May 17, be sure to tune in to a special Mass dedicated to our graduates at 11 a.m., streaming live from Egan Chapel. Also, our celebration of Fairfield’s 70th Commencement Weekend wouldn’t be complete without special messages for our graduates — keep an eye out for them on our social media channels, all day Sunday.

With so many ways to celebrate Fairfield’s Class of 2020, it’s important to remember that this is the University’s way to commemorate — not substitute for — what would have been our graduates’ Commencement weekend. This weekend marks the date that more than 1,475 students — approximately 1,000 undergraduates and 475 graduate, professional, and doctoral students — complete their degrees.

The degrees to be conferred span each of Fairfield University's five schools: the Charles F. Dolan School of Business, the College of Arts and Sciences, the Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies, the School of Engineering, and the Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions.
