ARENA 100 Be the Next Campaign Launches in Anticipation of the New Convocation Center

Fairfield University has officially kicked off ARENA 100 as part of the Be The Next campaign — an initiative that asks alumni, parents, and friends to Be The Next member of a special community of donors who support the construction of the planned Arena and Convocation Center.

Fairfield students, alumni, parents, and friends are invited to Be The Next to join the ARENA 100 team ‑ a growing community that backs the vision of the Arena and Convocation Center to help increase school spirit and alumni pride, strengthen student and athletic recruitment, enhance programming for alumni audiences, attract academic forums and debates, and more. ARENA 100 members will lead the way in making the planned Arena a reality.

Since the announcement of Fairfield’s planned construction of a new Arena and Convocation Center on the current site of Alumni Hall, an overwhelming number of alumni, parents, friends, and Stags fans have excitedly expressed their support for this modern facility that is sure to enhance the Fairfield experience for all who venture to Stag Country. In addition to being the new home for men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball, the Arena will be the prime event venue for concerts, academic forums, debates, and a rain location for Commencement, and will further solidify Fairfield’s foothold as the modern, Jesuit and Catholic University.

“Combined with our continued commitment to being a value-based, student-centric, outcomes-focused institution, the fulfillment of our Master Plan, Fairfield 2020: The Way Forward, has driven our rising trajectory and increased national identity,” said President Mark R. Nemec, PhD. “The ‘new Alumni Hall’ will be a capstone to this master plan, which will only further enhance our momentum.”

Stags family, friends, and fans can Be The Next to support the vision of the Convocation Center by joining the ARENA 100 community and making a gift of $5,000 per year for the next five years. ARENA 100 members will receive:

  • Two complimentary tickets to the inaugural Stags Men’s and Women’s Basketball season in the Convocation Center
  • Recognition on an ARENA 100 plaque in the Convocation Center
  • Invitation to ARENA 100 member receptions
  • Exclusive ARENA 100 premium merchandise item

The Arena and Convocation Center is expected to be 85,000-square feet, and will include seating for 3,500 guests, a Stags Club lounge and premium seating area for season ticket holders and fans, and amenities such as an LED videoboard and a beer garden — truly making it a showpiece on campus. “The Arena will bring our entire University community together and will serve the town of Fairfield for years to come,” said Vice President for Advancement Wally Halas.

Construction for the Arena and Convocation Center is projected to begin in the spring of 2020 and take between 18 and 24 months to complete. To learn more about the Arena and how to Be The Next to support the rise of this new facility, visit FairfieldStags.com/ConvocationCenter.
