Student-athletes were recognized from Fairfield Softball, Women’s Tennis, and Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse.

Four Fairfield student-athletes, representing four different varsity athletics programs, have earned weekly conference awards for their recent performances with the Stags. Brooke Gallagher ’18 M’20, Aina March ’22, James Corasaniti ’22, and Katie Kudlacik ’22 all received recognition in their respective sports.

Gallagher represented Fairfield Women’s Lacrosse as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Offensive Player of the Week. The graduate student from Yardley, Pa. scored six goals with eight assists for the Stags this past week, contributing to more than half of the Stags' total goals scored in a 1-1 week of non-conference action.

March had a 3-0 week for Fairfield Women’s Tennis to earn MAAC Player of the Week laurels for the first time in her career. A rookie from Barcelona, March won at singles and doubles in Saturday’s team victory at Saint Joseph’s and picked up another singles triumph in the Stags’ win at La Salle on Sunday.

Making his first career start for Fairfield Men’s Lacrosse, Corasaniti made 18 saves to lead the Stags to a 12-11 win over crosstown opponent Sacred Heart last Saturday, en route to Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week recognition. Four of Corasaniti’s stops came in the fourth quarter as Fairfield turned a two-goal deficit into the first victory of the season.

Another rookie making her first appearances for the Stags, Kudlacik starred in the pitching circle for Fairfield University Softball to collect MAAC Rookie of the Week honors. She tossed 2.2 innings of scoreless relief last Sunday against Oakland. The following day, Kudlacik started for the first time in her career and hurled a complete-game four hitter, striking out 10 batters in a 10-1 win for the Stags at Campbell.
