Discounted registration is available to Fairfield University community members for this year's Lil' Stags Kids Fun Run, 5K Race, Beer Mile, and Half Marathon.
Fairfield University is a proud sponsor of the Athletic Brewing Company Fairfield Road Races. Hundreds of Fairfield University community members — students, alumni, faculty, staff, and Stag families — are expected to continue the tradition of participating in race weekend events.
This year's races will once again begin and end at Jennings Beach. Things kick off on Saturday, May 31 with the 5K Road Race at 8 a.m., the Lil' Stags Kids Fun Run at 9:10 a.m., and the Athletic Brewing Beer Mile at 9:30 a.m.
The Half Marathon is set for 8 a.m. the following day, Sunday, June 1.
The Lucas Challenge is a special two-day event for runners who register to run the 5K on Saturday and the Half Marathon on Sunday. Can you run 16.2 miles in 24 hours? Give it a try! Register for both races and you will receive a custom-colored race bib and a Lucas Challenge medal at the end of the Half Marathon.
As always, Fairfield’s mascot, Lucas the Stag, will be on hand to cheer on participants, hold the finish line ribbon, and pose for photos with families.
To register, visit Athletic Brewing Company Fairfield Road Races. Fairfield University community members can use the promo code GOSTAGS for a discounted entry fee. Runners who register as Fairfield alumni will be eligible to receive a special keepsake giveaway at pickup.
Early packet pickup will take place for all race participants upstairs at the Fairfield University Bookstore, located at 1499 Post Road in Fairfield. Dates and times:
- Friday, May 30, from 12 to 6 p.m. for all race categories.
- Saturday, May 31, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for Half Marathon only.
Fairfield University community participation in the Fairfield Road Races has grown steadily in recent years. In 2024, close to 500 Stags were among the almost 4,000 runners who took part in the weekend events.
The Fairfield Road Races is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting local charities and community initiatives. Since its founding over 40 years ago, the event has raised nearly $5 million for causes including Ben’s Lighthouse and the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.
