Doctorate Degree Programs

DNP Family Nurse Practitioner

Fairfield University’s BSN-DNP program for Family Nurse Practitioners prepares students to manage the healthcare needs of individuals and their families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, as well as diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases.

DNP Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Fairfield University’s BSN-DNP program for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners Across the Lifespan prepares students to assess, diagnose, and provide primary mental health care. Students work in multiple modalities to provide mental health care for people of all ages from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic groups suffering from psychiatric disorders and mental health problems.

DNP Nurse Anesthesia

Fairfield University's BSN-DNP program for Nurse Anesthesia prepares students as expert clinicians for every stage and setting in which anesthesia is delivered to patients. Students gain hands-on experience in a variety of regional (neuraxial and peripheral block) and general anesthesia techniques under the supervision of certified registered nurse anesthetists and MD faculty. From routine surgical cases, to trauma, to major burn situations, you'll work on a variety of scenarios to expertly prepare you for the challenges that lie ahead.

DNP Nurse Midwifery

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Nurse Midwifery concentration prepares students as expert nurse midwives for every stage and in every setting in which midwifery care is delivered to women. The program is designed to meet the competencies for the practice doctorate in midwifery set forth by the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM) and to meet the ACNM Core Competencies for Basic Midwifery Practice.

Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition

The DCN program is an advanced practice doctoral degree with emphasis on leadership, advanced evidence based practice and research under the Future Education Model standards. The curriculum includes all necessary courses and experiential supervised practice required for graduates to obtain a verification statement allowing them to sit for the Registration Examination for Dietitian Nutritionist.

Post-Master's Doctor of Nursing Practice

Fairfield University's MSN-DNP program prepares both advanced practice nurses and nurse administrators/executives with the enhanced leadership and evidence-based skill sets needed to meet the demands of the healthcare systems of the future. Students will acquire the knowledge to create and evaluate innovations to improve healthcare, analyze and apply evidence to improve outcomes, use advocacy skills to affect policy that reduces health inequities, and integrate technology into patient care.

Master's Degree Programs

Accelerated Master’s Entry to Practice Nursing

Fairfield University’s Accelerated Master’s Entry to Practice Nursing (MEPN) program provides a unique opportunity for those with a non-nursing bachelor’s degree to pursue a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree in an accelerated format. The MEPN is the first such program in the state of Connecticut to prepare advanced generalists for registered nursing practice and leadership.

MSN/MBA Dual Degree Program

Fairfield’s dual Master of Science in Nursing and Master of Business Administration degree program prepares nurses with the knowledge and experience required for executive leadership positions in healthcare organizations. This dual degree provides students with the ability to earn two master’s degrees at once, giving them the ability to compete for the growing employment demand in the healthcare field.

MSN Nursing Leadership

Fairfield University's MSN program in Nursing Leadership prepares students as advanced education nurse generalists with skills to respond to the urgent call for better patient outcomes and improved coordination in the delivery of healthcare services. Students learn to address the future demands in the field, such as needs of an aging population, chronic illness management, health promotion and disease prevention, and integrated healthcare leadership.

MSN Family Nurse Practitioner

Fairfield University's MSN program for Family Nurse Practitioners prepares students to manage the healthcare needs of individuals and their families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, as well as diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. With a curriculum based on theory and practice, you’ll learn how to provide cost-effective, holistic care, address women’s health issues, and care for individuals of all ages, from newborn babies to the elderly.

Fairfield Egan’s online master of science in healthcare administration (MHA) provides students the knowledge and experience to pursue a wide range of healthcare-related careers. The versatile program complements various fields of study — from nursing to science to business. Students take courses across a variety of disciplines including economics, accounting, healthcare systems, healthcare policy, information technology, marketing, finance, management, leadership roles, and more.
