The 2015 Fairfield Athletics Hall of Fame Golf Outing presented by USI Insurance Services on May 11th includes lunch, a day of golf, and concludes with the Hall of Fame induction ceremony dinner. Fundraiser to benefit Fairfield Athletics Sports Performance and Fairfield Rugby Club Sports Performance.

Fairfield U Jazz Ensemble to play at downtown bookstore

The Fairfield University Jazz Ensemble will play at the Starbucks located in the Fairfield University Bookstore on Tuesday, April 21 at 5 p.m. The evening will feature music composed by Brian Torff, Fairfield’s director of jazz and popular music and other pieces composed by current Fairfield students.

Armenian Genocide Memorial Service

Friday, April 24 at 3 p.m. in the Egan Chapel of St Ignatius Loyola, please join us for this special service to honor the two million Armenians living in Turkey who were eliminated from their historic homeland through forced deportations and massacres between 1915-1918.

Cycle with the Stags this summer

Magis alumna joins Peace Corps in Guatemala

Emma Cannon ’14, a Spanish and International Studies double major with a focus on Latin American Studies, is a Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala. As a volunteer, she works in support of the Healthy Schools Project, which strives to improves basic health and hygiene in primary school students in Guatemala. Her decision to join the Corps developed while she was at Fairfield and in part because of her involvement with the Magis Scholarship program. Magis means “more” and is closely tied to Fairfield’s Jesuit mission and identity. Cannon said that that influence encouraged her to make the most out of her four years at Fairfield and helped her in her decision to join the Peace Corps.

Water, water, everywhere…especially at Fairfield University

The Water Focus is in full swing at Fairfield and well into its second semester of exploration both in and outside the classroom, with a full spectrum of classes and events that challenge and intrigue. With more than 70 percent of the earth’s surface covered by water, students, faculty, and staff, have had plenty of opportunities to explore the issue through practically every discipline across campus.
