Fairfield Oktoberfest and Pink Ribbon Pledge Announced for September

The Fairfield University community is invited to participate in these Town of Fairfield events.

The Town of Fairfield will host its inaugural Oktoberfest on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 2 - 6 p.m. at the FTC and Sanford Street Lots. This first of its kind, outdoor event is a partnership of the Parks & Recreation Department, Experience Fairfield, and Fairfield Theatre Company.

Live music by Alligator and Benny Mikula Band (of Alpaca Gnomes) will provide entertainment along with axe throwing and corn hole. A beer truck will be on location, as well as local food trucks with festive food offerings. Commemorative Fairfield Oktoberfest t-shirts and steins will be available for purchase. For more about Oktoberfest, visit experiencefairfieldct.org/oktoberfest.

The Town of Fairfield is also participating once again in the Pink Pledge, a month-long, community-wide awareness and fundraising campaign held every October to benefit Norma Pfriem Breast Center. Funds raised through Pink Pledge enable the Center to continue to provide medical excellence and compassionate care to ALL women, regardless of their ability to pay.

A Community Kickoff is being held on Friday, Sept. 29 at 5:30 p.m. at the Sherman Town Green in downtown Fairfield, and a Stroll for Strength will take place on Saturday, October 7, at 8:30 a.m. at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Conn. For more information about these Pink Pledge events, visit pinkpledge.org.
