Dr. Grant speaks nationally and internationally on palliative care.

The Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies and the Kanarek Center for Palliative Care Nursing Education are hosting a special event to increase the discussion of palliative care. Marion Grant, DNP, ACNP-BC, ACHPN, FPCN, FANN, RN, will present “Resilient Progress for Palliative Care: Mind, Body, Spirit” at Fairfield University's Open VISIONS Forum lecture on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts.

Palliative care is a relatively new approach to enhancing quality of life for seriously ill individuals, by providing patients and families with supportive health communication, compassionate relationships, treatments, and spiritual care.

Dr. Grant speaks nationally and internationally on palliative care. After years of clinical nursing, she is now the senior regulatory advisor for the Coalition to Transform Advanced Care. Her presentation will focus on research demonstrating the successful impact of palliative care for patients living with serious illnesses and how nurses can assist in expanding access to palliative care — a shared goal of both the Kanarek Center and the Egan School.

This presentation is sponsored by Moffly Media, Delamar Southport, Delamar Spa, Artisan, The McKeen Fund, The Kanarek Center for Palliative Care Nursing Education at the Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies, and the Bennett Center for Judaic Studies at Fairfield University.

Tickets are now on sale on quickcenter.com for $35, or $25 for Quick Members.

For more information, contact the Quick Center Box Office at 203-254-4010, Monday through Friday, from 12 to 5 p.m.
