The senior leads the conference with 20.2 points per game.

For the second straight week and the third time this season, Lou Lopez-Senechal ’22 has been selected as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Player of the Week. Lopez-Senechal has led the Fairfield women’s basketball team to a 5-0 record in the MAAC, on the heels of her conference-best 20.2 points per game.

Lopez-Senechal, whose scoring average is also among the top 20 in the nation, has reached the 20-point plateau in four consecutive games and seven times overall this season. The senior from Grenoble, France is shooting .466 from the field, .791 from the free throw line and .404 from three-point range, all of which rank her among the top 10 in the MAAC.

The Stags’ 5-0 start to the MAAC slate has featured a win over defending conference champion Marist at Webster Bank Arena, and their first road victory at perennial league power Quinnipiac since 2014.

Fairfield Women’s Basketball continues MAAC play at Canisius on Saturday before returning home to host Manhattan at Webster Bank Arena on Thursday, Jan. 20.

The 5 p.m. clash with the Jaspers is the front-end of a Fairfield Basketball doubleheader that will also see the men’s team going toe-to-toe with Monmouth at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the twin bill are available via Ticketmaster.

Students, faculty, and staff receive one free ticket at the box office on game day with a StagCard.
