The University has once again been awarded many regional distinctions in U.S. News & World Report’s annual review, as well as Niche’s state and national lists.

Fairfield University has yet again been recognized in two widely cited annual college rankings, earning distinctions in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges 2021 ranking, as well as on research website Niche’s 2021 Best Colleges in America list.

Fairfield placed high on U.S. News & World Report’s Best Regional Universities in the North list at No. 3. Fairfield was also distinguished in the regional ranking for its high spot on the Alumni Giving list. Additional regional accolades for the University again this year include Most Innovative School and Best Undergraduate Teaching rankings, topping both lists at No. 2.

Fairfield’s high placement on the regional lists follows an upward trend in retention rate (90 percent), graduation rate performance, and a rise in SAT scores for incoming students. Schools included in the Regional Universities ranking offer a full range of undergraduate programs, provide graduate education at the master’s level, and are divided into four geographical groups: North, South, Midwest and West.

Fairfield ranked No. 21 out of 73 schools regionally considered Best Value Schools in the North. The Dolan School’s Finance program was also included on the list of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Undergraduate Business Programs for Finance, receiving a No. 20 spot on the list. Earning a place on the Report’s list of Best Engineering Programs, Fairfield placed in the top half of the ranking.

The University fared equally well in Niche’s Best Colleges in America ranking, named to the top 15 percent of the more than 1,600 colleges and universities included on the national list. Additionally, Fairfield was once again ranked No. 16 of 164 schools nationwide in the site’s review of Best Catholic Colleges in America.

The University’s national accolades don’t end there, placing in the top 5 percent of colleges and universities nationally on Niche’s Best Colleges for Nursing in America list, with a No. 34 spot out of 692 schools considered. Fairfield also placed in the top 10 percent of Niche’s rankings for Best College Campuses in America and Best Value Colleges in America, and in the top 15 percent of rankings for Top Private Universities in America and Best Colleges for Accounting and Finance in America.

On a state level, Fairfield fared best in class in several Niche rankings, awarded the No. 1 spots for Best Colleges for Communications, Best Colleges for Nursing, and Best Catholic Colleges in Connecticut. The University earned No. 2 spots for Best College Locations, Best College Campuses, and Best Colleges for Accounting and Finance in Connecticut, and a No. 3 rank for Best Colleges for Business in Connecticut.

Other top 5 statewide distinctions include a higher spot on their Safest College Campuses list, (No. 4) and Best Colleges in Connecticut list (No. 5), as well as top-five placements on the Top Private Universities list (No. 4), Colleges with the Best Student Life list (No. 5), and Colleges with the Best Professors list (No. 5).
