It's holiday crafting season! Gather your family together and celebrate the second day of Hanukkah and the season of Advent with these holiday-themed art activities.
Craft activities at the museum's Virtual Family Day on Dec. 12 will include creating polar bear finger puppets, decorating an ugly (paper) sweater, and making popsicle-stick ornaments! Participants must sign up by Monday, December 7, after which they will be contacted with instructions for picking up their kits and provided with a link to museum assistant Emily McKeon's video project tutorials, to help families follow along.
"The people who have participated have definitely enjoyed it," said Michelle DiMarzo '16, PhD, FAAR, curator of education and academic engagement at the Fairfield University Art Museum (FUAM) and assistant professor of art history and visual culture.
In fact, museum patron Sarah Slattery who participated in the last virtual family day had this to add: "The art kit was AMAZING! My five-year-old loved it so much. We actually zoomed our good friends, who also picked up their kits, and the kids made some beautiful stuff!! Thank you for making this difficult time a little brighter, and for the wonderful kit and great instructional videos!"
