With Commencement only four weeks away, Fairfield University is gearing up for the 2019 summer break with a large offering of college courses, residential high school programs, and youth camps for students of all ages to explore.

Current Stags and visiting undergraduates hoping to get ahead of their studies or catch up on college credits can enroll in one or more of the University’s 90 online and campus courses, which will be offered in one-week, two-week, and five-week formats during three separate sessions in May, June, and July. In addition to on-campus courses in core subjects like art history, English, economics, and psychology, more than 40 online classes will also be available in a variety of disciplines including applied ethics, engineering, marketing, and more. “Summer is the perfect time to complete a prerequisite for fall, focus intently on a challenging course, try out an elective, or complete a course for an additional major or minor,” said Walter Rankin, PhD, vice provost for graduate, continuing, and professional studies. “With online courses and flexible campus sessions, students can still pursue summer employment and enjoy vacation time with their families.”

Registration is open for all summer courses and available at my.fairfield.edu. Course dates, times, and faculty are subject to change, so students are encouraged to check with the Registrar's Office for the most up-to-date information. In addition college courses, Fairfield is also offering three high school programs that give rising seniors, juniors, and sophomores the opportunity to live on campus, explore future career options, and meet classmates from around the world. All three programs begin in early July and include Pre-College Immersion, a five-day, non-credit residential program that explores career options in nursing, business, and the arts and sciences; Summer Scholars, a two-week residential program in which students can earn college credits in biology, psychology, and economics; and BASE Camp, a two-week residential camp that engages female students in hands-on, research-based experiences in STEM.
