Virtual Meet & Greet With Author of Letters from Italy, Feb. 22

The Fairfield University Downtown Bookstore will host author Mario Dell’Olio on Facebook Live.

"[the book] fulfills the reader’s expectations: surprise, hardship, disappointment, but mostly of enduring love, all unfold in the course of the narrative."

— Laura Wagner, La Voce di New York

The Fairfield University Bookstore will host Mario Dell’Olio, author of Letters from Italy: A Transatlantic Love Story for a virtual event on Facebook Live next Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m.

Letters from Italy: A Transatlantic Love Story is a poignant biography and love story about the author's Italian immigrant parents. Shortly after his father’s death, Dell'Olio's mother found a trove of letters written many decades before. Sitting at the kitchen table, she read them aloud, beginning a passage back through time. The letters revealed how, against all odds, an orphaned girl and a young dreamer found solace in a romance sparked by a single photo and years of transatlantic letters.
