The College of Arts and Sciences annual awards, open to both undergraduate and graduate students, provides special opportunities for the College and its faculty to acknowledge outstanding student work.

The College continues to offer an opportunity to acknowledge students’ outstanding work through its Annual Award recognition. Since the current situation will not allow for a traditional on-campus celebration, there will be a virtual celebration on April 27.

This year’s deadline for submission of department/program award recipients is Monday, March 29. Please nominate students here.

Here are the instructions to help you through the process:

  • Go to https://casawards.fairfield.edu and use the pull down menu to find your department or program’s award.
  • If you have a change, e.g., where an award is no longer exists, has a new name, or you need to add a supplemental award, please contact Jean Daniele, so she can make those changes in the online submission system. It is helpful if you do this as soon as possible so the online system can be updated to avoid problems during program production.
  • Enter the name of student recipient, student ID, and highlight the student’s accomplishment in approximately 150 words.
  • Some departments and programs will occasionally have a winning team or group of students. In such a case, you would use the “add another nominee” box to add additional award-winners.

Please note that an insert will again be added in the program where departments and programs can list their additional award winners, by use of the Supplemental Award box also found on the website.

Please note that departments and programs are limited to one major award, but individual virtual awards nights to honor students for their great work are encouraged. Additional awards can also, as noted above, be listed with the supplemental awards.

As part of the awards ceremony, the awards for outstanding student work in the categories of the Humanities, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Visual and Expressive Arts, will be presented. The call for entries with details was circulated to all CAS faculty and students. Please encourage your students to submit their outstanding work to cascareers@fairfield.edu.

Questions? Please contact Kim Nickolenko, director of career engagement, College of Arts and Sciences, (203) 254-4000, ext. 2227.
