Recognizing Contributions to Excellence, Engagement, and Volunteer Service

On April 20, students, parents, faculty, and teammates gathered to celebrate this year’s Student Achievement Award recipients and the many ways they have strengthened the University community—both on and off campus.

The annual ceremony honored Class of 2026 undergraduate and graduate students for academic achievement, leadership, engagement, and volunteer service in the Ignatian tradition.

Among their many accomplishments, this year’s awardees advanced student government initiatives, championed accessibility, fostered school spirit, and excelled in athletics.

Student-Athletes Recognized for Leadership and Impact

Standout student-athletes Lauren Beach ’25, MSN'26 of the women’s basketball team and Luke Davidson ’26 of the men’s basketball team were recognized for accomplishments that balance academic excellence, athletic dedication, and personal growth.

Luke Davidson ’26: Leadership in Athletics and Advocacy

Davidson was recognized for his leadership across multiple areas on campus. Captain of the men’s basketball team, he served as co-president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and was an administrative intern in the Fairfield Athletics Department. His involvement also extended to the Stags Care Team, where he supported student well-being and community engagement initiatives.

At the conference and national level, Davidson served as Fairfield’s representative to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and on an NCAA oversight committee.

Lauren Beach ’25, MSN'26: Excellence in Nursing, Athletics, and Service

As a five-year nursing major with a minor in psychology, Beach studied toward her MSN degree in Nursing Leadership this year, while competing for the Stags. She maintained a 3.94 GPA in the nationally ranked Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies and completed clinical rotations at leading healthcare institutions including St. Vincent’s Medical Center and Yale New Haven Health.

On the court, Beach served as a two-time team captain and played a key role in multiple MAAC Championship-winning seasons, earning recognition on the MAAC All-Academic Team. She has participated in a variety of service projects with the team, most notably for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

In her acceptance remarks, Beach said, “The sense of community, pursuit of excellence, and service of others that I have experienced at Fairfield is something I will be searching for in every aspect of life as I move from my time here.”
