Fairfield is a charming coastal town featuring beaches, marinas, parks, along with plenty of shopping and fine dining, all within 50 miles of New York City.

When you’re a senior, you may have the opportunity to live off-campus. It’s just one of many unforgettable ways Fairfield turns an education into an experience and an experience into an education. We encourage students to wait until they are released from campus by the Office of Residence Life before they sign a rental lease.

Fairfield, Downtown, and Beyond

Picturesque New England destinations are easy to navigate on foot, are close to transportation, and offer so many activities and attractions, you won’t run out of things to do.

How to Be a Good Neighbor

Introduce Yourself

Say hello, give neighbors your phone number and offer a welcoming gift (homemade cookies/flowers).

Be Courteous

Consider your neighbors' lifestyles and recognize they might be different than yours. For example, if they have young children, quiet evenings will be very important to them.

Be Conscious

Be conscious of the proximity between your house and your neighbor’s house. Can they hear your conversation through your window?

Be Considerate

Be considerate when parking. Do not block your neighbor’s driveway or take their spot. Keep your guests’ cars only in your driveway.

Be Tidy

Keep your yard clean. Pick up after yourself, guests, and pets. No one wants to live next to a messy neighbor. Put rubbish/garbage out on collection days.

Beach Clean-Ups

Fairfield University participates in the Town of Fairfield’s Adopt-A-Street pilot program — a community partnership that brings together volunteers dedicated to keeping our town clean and beautiful.

Each week, students and staff take part in a beach cleanup that extends to nearby streets, helping to remove litter and protect our local shoreline. It’s a simple yet impactful way to give back to the community we call home.
