Megan Montemarano ’14 and Brandon Bubba ’14

We met Sophomore year of college through a mutual friend. One of our first memories together is playing a game of Apples to Apples with a bunch of friends in the Loyola Commons. After this initial introduction, we remained friends. But it wasn't until our junior year, during a spontaneous walk around campus to stargaze on Bellarmine Lawn, that Brandon realized he was smitten. During Christmas break, we texted nearly every minute of every day, and upon our return, the feeling was mutual. We were officially a couple. Fast forward seven years, back to where it all began, Brandon popped the question outside of Bellarmine Hall. The plan was to go for a stroll around campus with friends before heading to town for dinner. I was admiring the sunset when suddenly, Brandon asked to take a picture together. This instantly surprised me since Brandon never wants to take a picture. One second we were positioning ourselves in front of the mansion to capture the perfect pose, and the next, Brandon was down on one knee, a sparkling ring in hand. We tied the knot on June 12, 2021, after delaying a year due to Covid-19. We feel blessed to have gotten married at the very place where we met - on Fairfield's beautiful campus. We had the ceremony at Egan Chapel and our reception was held at Woodway Country Club in Darien, CT. It was a joyous occasion to have everyone we love around us after so much time apart to celebrate our special day!
