Team USA reached the quarterfinals at the tournament in Xiong’an, China.

Fairfield University Women’s Basketball standout Kaety L’Amoreaux traveled to Xiong’an, China last month to compete for USA Basketball at the 3x3 U23 World Cup. L’Amoreaux represented Team USA alongside Power 4 competitors Taylor Bigby (TCU), Zee Spearman (Tennessee), and Serena Sundell (Kansas State).

Team USA went 3-1 in pool play, defeating national teams from Mexico, the Philippines, and Chile, while falling to Spain. Their performance merited a spot in the quarterfinals, where the bracket pitted Team USA against the Netherlands in a rematch of last year’s final. This time, it was the Dutch who went on to win the tournament, knocking off Team USA to end L’Amoreaux’s stay in China.

“It was an honor and an unforgettable experience to represent the U.S. in the tournament,” said L’Amoreaux. “Traveling and playing with the team was a great opportunity for me to work on my game and learn at an elite level.”

The U23 World Cup was L’Amoreaux’s second appearance on the 3x3 stage. She was one of four Stags to compete at the 3x3 Nationals this past summer, joining teammates Meghan Andersen ’27, Emina Selimovic ’24, M’25 and Raiana Brown.

In two seasons as a Stag, L’Amoreaux has averaged 11.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, helping to lead Fairfield to back-to-back MAAC Championships and NCAA postseason appearances. She was an All-MAAC Second Team selection in 2025 and is a Preseason All-MAAC First Team pick entering the upcoming campaign.
