Sharri and I met in a Music class in Jogues Hall during her senior year and my junior year. She spotted me first, and after a few days, managed to move up to the seat beside me in class. She asked to borrow my notebook to take notes "from a missed class.” I didn’t know it then, but pretty sure she hadn’t missed any. I agreed, and when the notebook was returned, it arrived with a giant plate of chocolate chip cookies. My friends (who witnessed her delivering them) were wondering who the girl with the cookies was! Soon after, we began dating, and we were pretty inseparable that year. One of our first dates was a Monday Night Football game at Giants Stadium. Cookies? Football? Not a bad start!
After I completed grad school and both of us began working, we were happily married in 1994.
Fast forward many years (too many, and too fast!), and we are now enjoying life together in Connecticut as new empty-nesters after raising a wonderful daughter and son who are both in college now. We celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary in 2015 by participating in one of the first Fairfield U StagMates gatherings and celebrating Mass at Egan Chapel, which was completed during my senior year at Fairfield. We cherish the memories and friends from Fairfield, and love going back for special occasions. Having shared 34 years including our time together at Fairfield, we feel incredibly blessed by God to have our shared Fairfield experience and our life together! Thank you, thank you, Fairfield!
