Thanksgiving Favorites from the Tully

The holidays are here—and what would they be without delicious dishes to share with loved ones? These are some student favorites from the Tully Dining Commons that you can recreate for Friendsgiving, Thanksgiving, or whatever else you're celebrating this holiday season.

1.  Butternut Squash Bisque

Nothing says holiday comfort quite like soup! This puree of butternut squash and sweet potatoes is seasoned with pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg and fresh ginger.

2.  Cranberry-Apple Couscous Salad

No feast is complete without a salad! This toasted couscous salad tossed with Granny Smith apples, almonds, dried cranberries, fresh spinach and green onion is sure to make its way onto everyone’s plate.

3.  Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Some people love ‘em, some people hate ‘em—but you can’t deny the necessity of something green at your holiday dinner. If nothing else, they will at least spark a healthy debate of who is team bacon vs. no bacon on top!

4.  Roasted Chayote Squash

Tossed in garlic, onions & green peppers, this squash variation provides the perfect heap of veggies you need. 

5.  Honey & Orange Roasted Potatoes

The front runner for favorite Thanksgiving dish HAS to be some form of potatoes. Could these be a first-place favorite? Roasted quartered red potatoes coated with a sweet honey orange sauce—we'll take a plate full please!

6.  Old Fashioned Mashed Potatoes

Okay, maybe we take it back…. THIS is the ultimate crowd pleaser. It’s our students’ favorite Thanksgiving dish, and we’re sure it’s yours as well.

7.  Cumin-Spiced Roasted Butternut Squash

First time cooking a Thanksgiving side? This dish is easy to prepare and delicious! Roasted butternut squash tossed with extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice, honey, parsley and cumin would be a tasty accompaniment to any meal.

8.  Honey BBQ Turkey

The main event—Turkey! If you’re looking for a new spin on a Thanksgiving classic, try our grilled turkey breast topped with barbecue seasoning and brushed with honey. Don’t worry—no campus turkeys were harmed in the making of this article!

9.  Pumpkin Danish

You didn’t think we would leave out a classic pumpkin flavor did you? This sweet treat will satisfy all your pumpkin cravings this Holiday season.

10.  Freshly Baked Chocolate Chip Cookies

Nothing reminds us of family & home more than freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. You can never go wrong with this classic.

11.  Apple Streusel Pizza

We are the first ones to say we love a classic pizza, but add in all these favorite fall flavors for a scrumptious dessert and we are sold. A crispy pizza crust topped with diced apples, cinnamon-oat streusel and a vanilla glaze cannot be beat.
