The holidays are coming with a well deserved break—but have you considered taking advantage of some down time to start developing your professional skills? Here are 4 tips from the College of Arts and Sciences Career Center that can help you put your best foot forward as you prepare for next semester.

1.  Update your Resume

The Career Center has its very own LinkedIn Photo Booth for students. Contact the Career Center at careers@fairfield.edu to schedule an appointment for when you're back on campus.

3.  Envision Your Future & Take Steps to Help Yourself Get There

Consider your dream job and find someone on LinkedIn who has it. Check their career path to get ideas on which jobs or internships you'll apply for; or contact existing professionals who you might want to network with.

4.  Make Connections

Grow your LinkedIn and professional networks. Customize your introductory message when reaching out to connect on LinkedIn, particularly when connecting with Fairfield alumni.
