Following its Jesuit mission to honor a determination to serve, Fairfield University will recognize Timothy Lane for his commitment to giving back at this year’s Fairfield Awards Dinner on April 3 at Cipriani 42nd Street.

For more than 35 years of service to his alma mater, Fairfield University will honor Timothy Lane ’85, P’24,’16 with the Alumni Service Award during this year’s Fairfield Awards Dinner on Wednesday, April 3 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.

A history major at Fairfield, Lane spent most of his career as a managing director at TIAA and is now president of Emeriti Retirement Health Solutions and a Councilman for the Borough of Montvale in New Jersey. “At TIAA, I was exposed to a lot of colleges and that had something to do with my interest in giving back and being committed to higher education — and certainly to my alma mater,” he said.

Lane has been an active member of several committees at Fairfield, including the Reunion Committee, the Fairfield Awards Dinner (as a co-chair and a committee member), the Our Promise Campaign Committee, and the Trustee Advisory Council. He and his wife Rose (Mulvey) ’85, P’24,’16 have also been engaged members of the Parents Leadership Council and hosts of the President’s Reception and the Friends of the Jesuits Golf Outing. In 2009, they established the Mulvey and Lane Family Scholarship at Fairfield University to honor both their parents and their belief in the value of a Catholic education. Their children, Thomas ’24 and Mairin ’16, are following in the family tradition of service to Fairfield University. Read more about Lane’s commitment to Fairfield University.

Since 1988, the annual Fairfield Awards Dinner has raised more than $21 million for the Alumni Multicultural Scholarship Fund and other scholarships, while celebrating the achievements and volunteer service of distinguished members of the Fairfield community.
