Fairfield University’s Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts is thrilled to announce its new 2023-24 schedule of live performances, lectures, screenings, and more.

High-profile artists include the multi-Grammy Award-winning musicians of Ranky Tanky, joined by special guest Lisa Fischer for a fall performance. In the spring, Chucho Valdés, Dianne Reeves, and Joe Lovano will take the Quick Center stage for Duets.

Fall premieres feature NOT waiting… by nora chipaumire in September, and MáM, created by Michael Keegan-Dolan and performed by Ireland’s Teac Damsa, in November.

An eclectic mix of internationally acclaimed artists will bring their talents to the Quick, such as Montreal circus giants Flip Fabrique, the newly established duet Agathe et Adrien, and Drum Tao, all the way from Japan.

Leading dance companies include A.I.M with Kyle Abraham in a world premiere, and South Africa’s Gregory Maqoma, who returns to the Quick stage with his new work, Broken Chord, featuring Connecticut-based choral singers.

In addition, the Young Concert Artists on Tour makes its Quick debut with top chamber musicians in a two-day stop that includes a performance and youth workshops as part of the Quick’s Arts for All program.

The acclaimed Open VISIONS Forum returns to the Kelley Theatre stage with thought-provoking speakers such as:

  • Michael Pollan, to share how to change your mind through diet and interplanetary organics.
  • Timothy Snyder, PhD, a master presenter and Yale University historian who will draw connections between big ideas of the past and our lives today.
  • Art Spiegelman, a Pulitzer Prizing-winning cartoonist who will reflect on his own work and discuss the future of post-literate culture.
  • Radhika Dirks, to share the promise and peril of artificial intelligence.
  • Marian Grant, to share her experiences as an expert in palliative care.
  • Juju Chang and Masih Alinejad, to discuss the impact of going viral with their work.
  • Susannah Heschel, to present the Bennett Center for Judaic Studies’ Jacoby-Lunin Humanitarian Lecture.
  • Zanny Minton Beddoes, to headline the Bank of America Women and Leadership Series.

Audiences can look forward to sharing creative and intellectual experiences that excite and engage. The Quick offers the best ticket prices in town to make all events accessible. Live performances and lecture tickets are only $35, or $25 for Quick Members.

In addition to the robust new season’s in-person events, the Quick will also present livestreamed programs on its virtual platform, The Quick Live. Virtual programs are free of charge, including those offered by the MFA program’s Inspired Writers Series, the Fairfield University Art Museum, and the Frederickson Family Innovation Lab.

Live performances and lectures will go on sale to the general public on Monday, July 19, with advance sale options available to Quick Members starting July 5. The Met: Live in HD will go on sale to the general public on Monday, July 31, with advance sale options available to Quick Members starting Monday, July 24.
