Thank you for all of your support. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events.

Thank you to our Friends of Fairfield Athletics for your support of Fairfield University Athletics! Since my last update – our athletic development team has been busy coordinating events with our head coaches to help engage our alumni, parents, and friends and generate philanthropic support for our 20 sports funds. A few of the recent event highlights include:

  • Men’s & Women’s Basketball Alumni Receptions on Opening Nights at Mahoney Arena
  • Record-setting Giving Tuesday on November 29th with $220K+ raised from over 200 donors to support our Built for Life Fund and sport-restricted funds
  • Friends of Baseball held “First Pitch: An evening to support Fairfield Baseball” on January 20th with 130 alumni, parents, and friends attending
  • Men’s & Women’s Lacrosse Alumni gathered together in New York City on January 26th with coaches and staff to preview the upcoming season and raise funds for their respective programs
  • 1998 MAAC Football Championship Team held a reunion on February 4th and 5th with 198 former players and guests returning to campus to celebrate the 25th anniversary. Thank you to the 33 Football Alumni that joined our Monarch program by pledging $1250 or more to our Sport Performance Fund
Please mark your calendars for four upcoming Fairfield Athletics events:

As we finish the last games of the 2022-23 Men’s & Women’s Basketball Season on March 2, 2023 – our new home for Stags Basketball exceeded expectations. Mahoney Arena has been an incredible addition to our campus community - helping increase school spirit and unite alumni, faculty/staff, and students. Thank you to our donors who have helped raise over $50M towards the Arena construction. As we near the finish line of raising our goal of $51.2M, there are still opportunities to pledge your support through our Arena 100 program. For more information about Arena 100, contact Director of Athletic Development/Senior Associate Director of Athletics Brett Burchette at 203-254-4000 ext. 2474 or bburchette@fairfield.edu.

Visit fairfieldstags.com for updates about all of our sports programs and for details on how to watch our lacrosse, baseball, softball, tennis, and/or rowing programs during the 2023 spring sports seasons.

Thank you again for giving back and making a difference!

Go Stags,

Paul Schlickmann
Vice President for Athletics
