Through the years, the annual Fairfield Awards Dinner has raised more than $20 million for the Alumni Multicultural Scholarship Fund and other scholarships to help students realize their full potential through a Fairfield education.
On Wednesday, April 12 at New York City’s Cipriani 42nd Street, Fairfield University will once again host the annual Fairfield Awards Dinner. The Awards Dinner has served as a cornerstone in the University's fundraising efforts to expand diversity on campus through the Alumni Multicultural Scholarship Fund and other scholarships. During the event, six distinguished alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of the University will be recognized for their professional accomplishments and volunteer service.
Since 1995, over 998 scholarships have been awarded from the Fund, including 18 students receiving an average of $31,000 each this year.
The scholarships supported by the Awards Dinner make it possible for the University to provide greater access to a Fairfield education for hard-working and talented students from diverse communities with demonstrated financial need, thereby enriching the overall community and campus learning environment.

Double Major: Finance and Management
Hometown: Philadelphia, PA
A Jesuit-educated graduate of St. Joseph’s Prep, Kwahmyre Barbour enrolled at Fairfield because “I felt it would allow me to grow independently as a young adult while furthering my education at one of the best business schools in the country.” Being the recipient of the Maguire Foundation Scholarship, St. Ignatius Loyola Scholarship, and the Xavier Merit Scholarship has empowered Barbour to explore his passions and fully immerse himself in all that the Fairfield experience offers, from thought-provoking academic courses to transformational networking and internship opportunities. “Just through my internship experiences alone, I have learned to place priority on company culture — who I work for rather than where I work,” he said. A management and finance double-major, Barbour will compete in Fairfield Dolan’s 2023 StartUp Showcase as the CEO and founder of Affluential Clothing and will pitch the company’s business plan with his team to a panel of potential investors. Following Fairfield, he will begin his post-graduate career with Standard & Poor’s Global Ratings division.
