Fairfield’s next postseason game is set for 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
Fairfield Baseball swept a three-game series from visiting Siena this past weekend at Alumni Diamond to win the MAAC Regular Season Championship for the second straight year, and the fourth time in the last six full seasons. The Stags are the top seed in this weekend’s MAAC Championship tournament at Clover Stadium in Pomona, N.Y.
Following a 12-inning, 4-3 loss to defending champion Rider to open the playoffs, the Stags will need to win four consecutive elimination games to claim the conference crown. Fairfield will take the field on Friday at 12:30 p.m. against Niagara with the winner of that contest will play another elimination game immediately after.
The MAAC Championship will be decided on Saturday, May 28. If Fairfield reaches the Championship series, they will need to win a pair of games beginning at noon, while their opponent would come from the winner’s bracket in need of just one victory to take the title.
