Doctor of Education Program: Virtual Information Session, May 4

Educators are invited to meet with faculty and admission counselors online to learn more about Fairfield University’s new EdD in Educational Leadership program.

The EdD in Educational Leadership for teacher-leaders is a fantastic program with a social and racial justice focus, and the goal of preparing leaders in education who will create significant impacts for their schools and communities.

— Laurie L. Grupp, PhD, dean of the School of Education and Human Development

On Wednesday, May 4, at 5 p.m., Fairfield University’s Office of Graduate Admission will host a virtual information session for experienced educators interested in learning more about the School of Education and Human Development’s Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership program.

Prospective students who attend the online event will have the opportunity to have their curriculum and enrollment questions answered live by a team of faculty and Admission representatives, and will receive a $65 application fee waiver if they choose to apply to the EdD program.

Launched in the Fall of 2021, Fairfield’s EdD in Educational Leadership is a three-year, hybrid, low-residency program for certified educators who want to build upon their experience to lead across classrooms and transform education and learning practices on a greater scale.

The doctoral program is tailored for individuals who have already taken, or seek to take on, expanded roles and responsibilities in their grade-level teams, departments, schools, or districts. The curriculum focuses on developing teacher leaders who are advocates for social justice and take action toward transformative change.

“Some teachers aspire to serve as administrators, most commonly school principals, but many want to have an impact on what is happening in their building without having to leave the work that they love,” said Laurie L. Grupp, PhD, dean of the School of Education and Human Development. “The EdD in Educational Leadership for teacher-leaders is a fantastic program with a social and racial justice focus, and the goal of preparing leaders in education who will create significant impacts for their schools and communities.”

Educators interested in learning more about the program are encouraged to register in advance for the EdD virtual session at fairfield.edu/gradinfo

Fairfield University offers more than 50 graduate programs across its five schools, and was recently ranked among the top five percent of master’s degree granting universities in the Northeast by U.S. News & World Report. For a full list of available programs, visit fairfield.edu/grad.
