Zoe Rosen '21

Soccer's Gena Pike '23 was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week twice in a row, and field hockey's Zoe Rosen '21 collected consecutive NEC laurels.

A pair of Fairfield University goalkeepers have won consecutive weekly awards for their prowess between the posts. Gena Pike '23 earned back-to-back MAAC Defensive Player of the Week nods as the netminder for Fairfield Women’s Soccer, and Zoe Rosen '21 has collected NEC Defensive Player of the Week laurels in two straight weeks for Fairfield Field Hockey.

Pike has started every outing in goal for the Stags; her team enters MAAC play this weekend riding a five-match unbeaten streak. On the season, the junior is 4-2-2 with a 1.34 goals against average and a .714 save percentage. Pike also vacated the game to score the game-tying goal with 20 seconds remaining in regulation of the Stags’ 1-1 draw at crosstown foe Sacred Heart.

Rosen has played all but five minutes of the 2021 season for Fairfield Field Hockey, en route to a 1.44 goals against average and an .824 save percentage. She made a season-high 13 saves against Monmouth in the Stags’ home opener on Sept. 3 and posted a shutout in the road win at Quinnipiac on Sept. 9.
