First-Place Stags to Host MAAC Championship, May 26-29

Fairfield Baseball is a whopping 35-1 this spring.

The road to the MAAC Baseball Championship will run through Alumni Diamond as the Stags prepare to host the 2021 MAAC Championship. Fairfield is an astounding 35-1 this season after sweeping Manhattan on Thursday to advance to next week’s Championship. The four-team, double-elimination tournament begins on Wednesday, May 26.

More information regarding the 2021 MAAC Championship, including a complete bracket and schedule, will be available on FairfieldStags.com following the conclusion of the MAAC quarterfinals on Saturday. Next week's games will be open to the public. A capacity crowd is expected inside the venue; fans are welcome to bring their own chairs and sit beyond the outfield wall.

Earlier in the week, Fairfield Baseball collected multiple All-MAAC awards. Most notably, Mike Caruso ’21 was tabbed as MAAC Player of the Year, and Bryson Cafaro ’21 was selected as MAAC Relief Pitcher of the Year. In addition, Head Coach Bill Currier garnered MAAC Coach of the Year laurels for the third time in a decade at the helm of the Stags. Caruso was also one of five All-MAAC First Team honorees, while Cafaro was a part of an All-MAAC Second Team trio. Click here for more information on all of the Stags’ All-MAAC selections.
