Fairfield's Summer Course Registration Opens Feb. 1

Attention all undergraduate and graduate students: catch up on credits, get ahead in your studies, or lighten your course load with more than 100 classes to choose from.

You’re invited! Fairfield University welcomes students of all levels to explore a variety of fully online undergraduate  and graduate courses being offered in the summer of 2021. Fairfield’s three separate Summer Sessions will take place in two- or five-week formats during the months of May, June, and July.

Whether you are looking to advance your education or enhance your professional development, there are exciting offerings for just about everyone. In addition to core subjects such as English, mathematics, and science, virtual classes will be offered in management, communication, applied ethics, engineering, marketing, and more.

Undergraduate students can dive into classes with interesting topics ranging from “Marine Science,” “History of Jazz,” and “Physics of Light & Color," to “Nonverbal Communication: Emojis, Emotions, and Employment,” and “Utopian Ideas & Practice.” French, Italian, and Spanish language courses will also be offered this summer, for student looking to prepare for global experiences.

Graduate students can sharpen their skills in classes as varied as “Intercultural Communication,” “Trauma and Crisis Intervention,” “Kitchen and Bath Design,” and “Turbomachinery.”

“Summer is the perfect time to complete a prerequisite for fall, focus intently on a challenging course, try out an elective, or complete a class for an additional major or minor,” said Walter Rankin, PhD, vice provost for Graduate, Continuing, and Professional Studies. “With our online courses and flexible campus sessions, students can still pursue summer employment and enjoy vacation time with their families.”

Online registration for all summer courses starts February 1. Current students should follow their normal advising processes and enroll directly through my.fairfield.edu. Visiting students should follow the procedures for Non-Matriculated Student Status. Course dates, times, and faculty are subject to change, so students are encouraged to check with the Registrar's Office for the most up-to-date information. For additional details regarding course registration, pre-work, or course syllabi, students are encouraged to contact Sandy Richardson, program coordinator, at (203) 254-4000 ext. 2911 or arichardson@fairfield.edu.
