David Axelrod, American political consultant and strategist, will deliver Fairfield University’s 2021 Bennett Lecture in Judaic Studies via livestream.

On Monday, April 26 at 7:30 p.m. David Axelrod — American political consultant, strategist, CNN political commentator, and former chief strategist and senior advisor to President Barack Obama — will deliver the Bennett Lecture in Judaic Studies.

Entitled "State of Play: The Political Future of the American Jewish Community," the livestream event will be delivered as a Zoom webinar. Register to attend at fairfield.edu/bennettprograms. The lecture is free and open to the public. 

“David Axelrod’s talk promises to be personally and politically insightful,” said Ellen M. Umansky, PhD, director of the Bennett Center. “He will share with us details of his own Jewish journey, his road to the White House with Barack Obama, and what he believes to be the current relationship between the American Jewish community and Israel.”

Axelrod currently serves as founding director of the University of Chicago's non-partisan Institute of Politics and is host of The Axe Files, a top-rated podcast featuring in-depth conversations with public figures across the political spectrum. He is also the author of the New York Times best-selling memoir, Believer: My Forty Years in Politics (2015).
