All eligible voters for the 2020 U.S. election have registered to vote.

Led by the efforts of the Fairfield University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), every eligible Stags student-athlete is now registered to vote beginning with the 2020 U.S. election. The registration initiative is a part of the STAGS LEAD Voter Education Program instituted this summer.

"Our student-athletes continue to display great leadership here at Fairfield, in their communities, and in the world around them," said Director of Athletics Paul Schlickmann. "I am proud and inspired that our Stags have made a collective commitment to take meaningful action in this critical process."

The STAGS LEAD Voter Education Program will also include educational opportunities and assistance for those who need to obtain absentee ballots. In addition, athletics schedules on Election Day – Tuesday, Nov. 3 – will provide ample time for student-athletes who vote locally to do so in person.

Information for all Fairfield University students, including details on voter registration and obtaining an absentee ballot, is available from the Office of Student Engagement at fairfield.edu/vote.

The STAGS LEAD Voter Education Program will be an annual initiative to encourage student-athletes to get involved and make informed decisions in politics and government at the national, state, and local levels.
