The Fairfield Dolan MBA Offers New Curricular Customization and Expands Reach in Shanghai

Students now have the flexibility to design their own MBA program at the Charles F. Dolan School of Business. The same leading business education is now available to professionals in Shanghai.

It is an exciting time at Fairfield Dolan. Earlier this semester, the School enrolled 128 new graduate students, representing an 83% growth. This tremendous growth reflects the appeal of Dolan’s top, nationally-ranked graduate business degree programs. The School continues to launch new programs and enhance curricular offerings of existing ones. These advances have been made in alignment with Dolan’s mission to develop innovative, principled, and globally-minded business leaders for a better world.

The Fairfield Dolan MBA in particular has transformed to meet students where they are and offers a high degree of customization. Students can now elect a hybrid format and build the curriculum they want from a selection of courses that meet their interests and needs. With the revised MBA, there are now fewer required courses and the option to pursue more than one concentration. Because one size does not fit all, Dolan MBA students are given tremendous flexibility to design their own plans of study to suit their needs.

“The change from an on-campus format to a hybrid modality, prior to the pandemic, has really enhanced the appeal of our MBA program,” said Program Director Mousumi Bose Godbole. “We are very excited about the highly customizable MBA curriculum, to be launched in spring 2021.”

News around the Fairfield Dolan MBA does not stop there. Fairfield University has partnered with Golden Education, one of the largest management training companies in China, to offer the Dolan MBA to professionals in Shanghai.

“A degree from a U.S. institution is highly regarded in China, but not all students have the time or money to go abroad,” explained Dean Li. The Fairfield Dolan MBA program in Shanghai, taught by Fairfield professors, allows students to continue in their professional careers while pursuing the degree in the evenings and weekends. While the program has a focus on finance, students also take the same marketing, management, and leadership courses that Fairfield MBA students take. The Shanghai students are scheduled to take the final class in the program – the Wall Street Immersion course – on campus in fall 2021.

“We’re creating a brand for ourselves in Shanghai,” said Leanne De Los Santos, assistant dean of graduate programs at the Dolan School, who interviewed each of the applicants. “These high-caliber students are all professionals, and many work at big companies. Their success is our success.”

The next cohort of MBA students in Shanghai will begin in the spring. To learn more about the Fairfield Dolan MBA program visit fairfield.edu/mba.
