Guided by the principle that an educated workforce is best equipped to adapt and thrive in an ever-changing global market, Fairfield University has partnered with MindEdge Learning to offer more than 200 online professional development courses and certificate programs in 30 high-demand fields. The non-credit, self-paced courses are ideal for busy professionals interested in learning new skills, exploring alternative careers, or advancing in their current position, and are a perfect complement to the University’s already extensive offering of in-person executive and professional education programs.

“MindEdge brings 20 years of expertise in non-credit, online skills development and training that builds upon our own academic offerings,” said Walter Rankin, vice provost for Graduate, Continuing, and Professional Studies. “The courses are short, self-paced, and updated regularly to reflect the needs of specific fields, from communications and marketing, to web design and leadership. Plus, each class has open enrollment, which means there is no application process. Professionals can register for whatever course they’re interested in whenever they want to take it.”

Committed to putting 21st-century professionals on the fast track to achieving their goals, each MindEdge course offered through the University is designed to address the demands and opportunities of today’s business environment. Some of the partnership’s most popular course topics include business and data analysis, human resource management, entrepreneurship, emerging technologies, cybersecurity, nonprofit management, web design, six sigma, and women in business, among others. Students can also enroll in a series of innovative courses on personal branding, networking, and hiring, developed in conjunction with business media brands Fast Company and Inc. magazine.

Each MindEdge course is expert-supported, mobile-friendly, and requires minimal technical requirements. Students benefit from a diverse range of course delivery methods, including videos, integrative exercises, learner assessments, and simulation technology, and can employ a unique digital badging system to document their course completions and certifications.
