Fairfield University Announces New Virtual Visit Opportunities

The Office of Admission is offering students and families a variety of options to tour campus and connect with counselors, faculty, and current students online.

During these difficult times, we want to ensure our students and their families that we are here for them whenever they have questions or concerns.

— Corry Unis, Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management

While Fairfield University is temporarily suspending campus visits to preserve the health of its prospective and current Stags, the Office of Undergraduate Admission has developed a series of virtual opportunities for students and families to “visit” campus from the comfort of their couch and connect with members of the University’s community online.

Virtual information sessions are currently being offered to prospective students interested in learning more about the Fairfield experience, Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. via Zoom conferencing software. Virtual information sessions specifically tailored to students recently admitted into the Class of 2024 are also being offered Monday through Friday at 11:30 a.m. and again at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Class of 2024 admitted students also have the option to schedule a virtual meeting with an admission counselor to have their questions answered one-on-one. These meetings are being offered via Zoom conferencing software or by phone during normal hours of operation with extended hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Students can also schedule a phone appointment with a financial aid counselor during normal business hours, to discuss the various financing options available to them as a Stag.

Although nothing can fully replace the feeling of stepping onto Fairfield’s campus for the first time, the Office of Admission is also offering a virtual tour experience that gives prospective students the opportunity to explore Fairfield’s 200-acre campus and its surrounding community with the click of a button. The fully immersive online experience is designed to simulate a traditional campus visit and offers users 360-degree views of the University’s modern facilities and scenic grounds, while providing useful information about Fairfield academics and student life.

“During these difficult times, we want to ensure our students and their families that we are here for them whenever they have questions or concerns,” said Corry Unis, vice president for strategic enrollment management. “By offering these opportunities to connect with our counselors, faculty, deans, and current students, we hope to give them that reassuring sense of 'Yes, I do belong in the Fairfield University community.'”
