De-Stress With DiMenna-Nyselius Library’s Virtual Finals Events

Students will find academic support resources as well as ways to stay motivated and manage stress.

During this busy time of year, the DiMenna-Nyselius Library has designed a variety of engaging virtual events to help students prepare for finals and de-stress. The following are just a few; for the full lineup and details visit the DNL Report.

Looking to get motivated to study? On Sunday, December 13 from 8 to 9:30 p.m., join a virtual study room hosted by a Writing Center tutor! Virtual study rooms help with time management and accountability, offering students tips on how to regain lost motivation. During the event, students will be asked to share what they are working on. After an hour and a half of independent work among peers, with the ability to ask the tutor quick questions in the Zoom chat, participants can share what they were able to accomplish.

Want to find tried and trusted academic support? Fairfield’s Research Librarians are looking forward to helping students find, evaluate, or cite sources for finals papers. Use the drop-in Zoom link, try the 24/7 chat on the library homepage, email Library staff, or make a research appointment.

Take a study break with furry friends! Join the virtual pet therapy session to meet campus pets and learn some fun facts about them. Students who are home and have a pet are invited to introduce their pet on Zoom too. Library staff and Counseling & Psychological Services pets will join on Thursday, December 17 from 1 to 2 p.m. and Campus Ministry and Library staff pets will join on Friday, December 18 from 1 to 2 p.m.

Students who want to really have some fun are invited to take part in the annual DiMenna-Nyselius Library Pickle Hunt on Instagram. Students can follow @fairfieldulib and play for a chance to win a prize each day.
