Career Center Launches Virtual Programs & Services

Fairfield's Career Center offers a variety of online opportunities including Interview Stream, virtual workshops, mock interviews, one-on-one career counseling, and more.

As the community continues to move forward in an online environment, Fairfield University’s Career Center has developed a series of virtual offerings to provide students with career and professional development support.

Director of the Career Center Cath Borgman emphasized the importance of continuing professional development through virtual programming.

"Since career counselors can't meet with students personally, we are staying connected with them by offering career counseling via e-mail, phone, and Zoom, providing online resources and workshops, and sharing job and internship opportunities from Stags4Hire, our job and internship posting platform. Students seem to be engaged and receptive to keeping their career planning on track."

The Career Center offers a variety of online opportunities including Interview Stream, virtual workshops, mock interviews, one-on-one career counseling, and more.

For nursing student Alexis Yannone ’20, the virtual offerings provide the support she needs as she begins her job search for life after Fairfield.

"Fairfield always finds unique ways to support its students, so it was no surprise when the Career Center continued to be helpful during this unprecedented time. As senior year comes to an end and I begin to apply to jobs, I wanted to make sure I had my resume prepared and I felt ready for interviews. The Career Center met these needs and went above and beyond to make sure I felt supported despite being away from campus. Zoom has made this extremely seamless and I can’t thank the faculty and staff enough for continuing to take the time to set me up for success."
