Stags Rank #23 in Latest NFHCA Poll

A seven-game winning streak has pushed Fairfield Field Hockey into the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) National Coaches Poll, occupying #23 on the ledger. Head Coach Jackie Kane '87 has led the program to a 7-1 record overall heading into Friday's home outing against Northeastern University.

The Stags, who also place 12th nationally in the latest RPI ratings, earn their first national ranking since 2012 when they also stood at #23 in the nation.

"I am very proud of this team, because this ranking is a direct result of the work put in since our first day of preseason," said Kane, who is in her 25th season leading the Stags. "This is an achievement that every player can share. But we also know we are only eight games into the season with a lot of games left. We want to continue to build on this success as we move toward our goal of playing in the postseason."

Fairfield's seven consecutive victories tie the program's longest win streak, which was established last season. The Stags have won all four of their home games as well a road game at then-#13 Boston College, and a pair of neutral site games against Kent State and Indiana. In total, Fairfield’s seven wins have come against teams representing seven different conferences.

Danielle Profita ’21 leads the team in scoring with 10 points, netting three goals and adding four assists to comprise that total. Two rookies are next in line for scoring, namely Page Lowry ’23 and Julianna Kratz ’23. Lowry has registered a team-best four goals in her eight appearances and also has one assist to her credit. Kratz places third among her teammates with eight points, consisting of two goals and four assists. Goalkeeper Zoe Rosen ’21 has played a majority of minutes for the Stags, recording a 1.01 goals against average with a .805 save percentage (33 saves). Rosen is a three-time NEC Defensive Player of the Week.
